GREENMOUNT VILLAGE COMMUNITY
GVC WORKING TO BECOME DEMENTIA FRIENDLY
Mission Statement

Volunteer Guidelines

A relaxed, informal setting with information, support, speakers,
friendship & laughter, the Cafés will be held at Greemount Cricket
Club on the second Friday of each month.

This is what the "Bury Times" said when the D-CaFF opened.

And from October 2017, we are starting a D-CaFF Meeet and Greet Café, the Quieter Side, on the fourth Tuesday of every month.

Run by volunteers, the Café relies upon the goodwill & generosity
of others - any donations will be gratefully received.

This will be an opportunity for us to get to know each other and
discuss what would be wanted at our Cafés. We look forward to
meeting you!

All welcome, please do come along & join us or email

D-CaFF: Twelve Days of Christmas on 14th December 2018

We celebrated Christmas in grand style, starting with a turkey sandwich lunch and followed by carols beautifully sung by the children of Greenmount Primary School, accompanied by their Head Teacher, David Griffith, on guitar.

Afterwards, there were raffle prizes and prizes for the fifteen highest seasonal quiz scores.

We all sang The Twelve Days of Christmas, with actions (twelve tables with the people at each standing up when their number came round), led by Joani Beale and we finished of with a Christmas sing-along led by Rita with Don on Guitar.

D-CaFF: Remembrance Day on 9th November 2018

We remembered the fallen on this 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War with the usual reading of the Ode of Remembrance and some excellent poetry depicting the era.

The Tottington Primary School Choir came along to entertain us and we finished with a sing-along, led by Don and Rita, which everyone enjoyed.

D-CaFF: Halloween with the Greenmount Strummers Band on Friday 12th October 2018

We were entertained by the excellent Greenmout Strummers Band, comprising:
Graham Scott, Howard Masters, David Archer, Phil Robinson, Don Kelly, Stewart Beswick, Donna Short and The Revd Alan Morris
