We will soon be starting our Himalayan Balsam removal for 2026. Himalayan Balsam is a highly invasive plant which is damaging to the environment. It crowds our native plants and can contribute to flooding by destabilising riverbanks (as you may know already!). Our first session is at Kirklees Valley & we will be working behind Tottington St John’s Cricket Club (in the woods 👀). We would love to have a good turn out as we know the area means a lot to the community and it really needs a big push to get this plant under control there.
