In June the Greenwood Group (Men’s Shed) were honoured with a visit from the Mayor Trevor Holt and his wife Evelyn. They commissioned an oak table for them to be their gift to the Bury Mayor’s Parlour. The Group went along and presented it to them. They were overjoyed and it is remarkable how well suited it is to its new surroundings. It will certainly be a talking point for many years to come. The tree was a dying oak tree that was felled in Philips Park, the legs came from a cherry tree in St Mary’s and the brass plaque was manufactured in Bury, so all Bury produced and made. A wonderful time was had and everyone was treated as dignitaries!
