Co-op Local Community Fund

Dear All,

As you may be aware, Greenmount Village Community were successful in bidding to be one of the local causes to receive support from the Co-op.

This means that you can choose us as your local cause,  we will then receive 1p for every £1 you spend on Co-op branded items. This does not sound a lot, but all adds up to helping us pay for more benches down The Lines.

We have already reached nearly £200 from the support of residents.  If you have not yet signed up for a Co-op card you can phone 0800 0686 727.

Alternatively, log in to the Co-op app and select ‘membership’ to view the local cause options. You can select Greenmount Village Community as your cause online through your member account.

Please let me know if you have any queries, as the old saying goes “Pennies make ££££££££s”.

Kind regards,

Julie Southworth

Tottington Centre / Archery Talk / Family Bank request

Dear All

Tottington Centre

Please find attached the first newsletter of 2022 from the Tottington Centre. Note that The Tottington Tea Room is open from Monday and they have two major fundraising events planned: one in February and one in June.

Holcombe Moor Heritage Group

Attached is a flyer, informing you about a talk organised by the Holcombe Moor Heritage Group, to be held at Greenmount Golf Club on Wednesday 9th February. The speaker is local archer Jason Stokes.

Brandlesholme Community Centre – Family Bank

The family bank has lots of clothes and equipment for distribution but need large, lidded, plastic storage boxes to keep the stock safe and clean. Examples of the types required, of varying sizes are shown in the attached photo.  If anyone has any spare, they would be very grateful if you could drop them off at the centre, BL8 1HS between 9:30 and 12:30, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.  Alternatively, please reply to this e-mail and I can collect them from you (John Southworth)

Best wishes

Woodland Management – Friday 28 January

Hi

Welcome to another year! The group started 9 years ago and is continuing the good work.

We are meeting at Old Kays Park on Friday 28 January at 10am.

Up until now we have not worked in Old Kays Park, but Storm Arwen brought down some trees which require maintenance, plus other work in the park.

A map is attached of the meeting point. This is the car park at Old Kays Park on the corner of Holly Mount Lane. The car park is small so please, if you come by car, park so as many vehicles can get in the space as possible.

See you Friday and let us hope for good weather.

All the best,

Alistair
