Wellbeing Trail

Dear All,

Another busy weekend ahead in Greenmount and a chance to visit over 40
stalls advertising the varied activities taking place across the north of
Bury.

Greenmount Village Community will be hosting this exhibition at Greenmount
Old School, led by the walking group and with the unveiling of a large-scale
map showing all local walks leading out of Greenmount. Short, guided walks
are being arranged for the weekend including the recently implemented
Well-being Trail.

Come and visit the exhibition on Saturday 25th 10am -3pm or Sunday 26th
11am-3pm and see what other activities interest you.

Poster-for-Exhibition

Hi Everyone,

The next Greenmount Woodland Management will be on Friday 1^st July at 10am. A slight departure being the 1^st Friday of the month and not the last Friday, but only just after it.

As it happens there are 5 Fridays in July so we will be meeting again on Friday 29^th July also.

Currently we are not sure what the tasks will be, I will update you with a place and activity nearer the time.

Just to remind you that D-CaFF were awarded the Queen’s Award back in March 2020. Due to the Pandemic, they were unable to celebrate this prestigious award. However, Joani Beale and Laura Roberts did get to visit Buckingham Palace a couple of weeks ago to receive their award and would like to share this with you.

HOLCOMBE MOOR LIVE FIRING

There are live firing sessions on Holcombe Moor this weekend and midweek on Wednesday and Thursday.

Saturday 11th June, 8:30am to 5:30pm

Sunday 12th June, 8:30am to 1:00pm

Wednesday 15th June, 8:00am to 6:00pm

Thursday 16th June, 8:00am to 6:00pm

The red flags will be flying, please do not access MOD land during this time, stay safe and assist our armed forces.

Hi,

Paul Robinson is on leave this Friday so there is no Woodland Management on Friday 27^th May.

With the Jubilee Party next week (3^rd June at the Old School and Village Green) and the D-CaFF Celebration the following Friday 10^th June, it may be that the next Woodland Management is at the end of June.

After the village party you have the chance to walk to Peel Tower on a treasure hunt, and we have the keys so you can even go to the top of the tower!

Treasure-Hunt-to-Peel-Tower

Dear All

NHS England have been very active with the Bury Greenwood Group, part of Greenmount Village Community,  down at Philips Park around Social Prescribing.

Several weeks ago they came along and videoed a few of the team in the Barn area doing various activities. Here is the final cut and it has Alistair Waddell walking off stage right, Chris Dimitrov working the Shave Horse and his son Matt on the lathe. The Bury Greenwood Group are based at the shed and manufacture the benches which are in the process of being installed in the Lines area.

It is wonderful to get recognition again for leading a health project, especially after Joani and Laura from D-CaFF having just been to Buckingham Palace this week to collect their reward.

In preparation for jubilee weekend, we are asking for volunteers to help with a big village tidy up on Saturday 21^st May.

Meet at the Old School (BL8 4DS) at 10:00am if you can spare an hour.

All equipment provided, please bring your own gloves.
